Excerpt: As a self proclaimed movie buff, I have found it difficult over the past few years to find a film worthy of my perusal. I love movies with layers of depth and hidden messages that I can watch over and over enjoying every moment each time. Friends and family don’t necessarily enjoy watching along with me as I tend to have dialog with the screen or rewind scenes to watch how a person moves, speaks or simply executes a phenomenal plan. “I AM LEGEND” has proven itself to be one of these films.Will Smith gives an Oscar worthy performance as Dr. Robert Neville, as best I can say, a military scientist of Lieutenant Status who searches of cures for diseases. As this super intense drama begins, it seems that a long awaited viral cure for cancer has rabid side effects and is now airborne on Manhattan Island. Excerpt: EXTRACT – REVIEW 7.5 out of 10 Writer/director Mike Judge’s third film, Extract, is an amicable workplace comedy that serves as the perfect companion piece to his 1999 cult classic, Office Space.  Much like Office Space, Extract is the story of an average guy only this time around he’s the employer, not the employee.  Judge has always excelled at wringing the humor and silliness of everyday life and he is back in fine form with this film. She is also flirting up a storm with Joel who has thoughts of cheating on his wife because…. Things aren’t too wonderful at home either.  Joel’s wife Suzie (Kristen Wiig) has completely lost interest in him and they hardly ever have sex.  Joel also has to contend with the world’s most annoying neighbor (David Koechner) who just doesn’t seem to ever take a hint.  Joel becomes desperate and lost and confides to his friend Dean (Ben Affleck) who spends all of his time high on prescription drugs or weed.  Dean convinces Joel to get high with him and then gives him the world’s worst advice which Joel acts upon in his drug stupor.  Let’s just say the plan involves a male prostitute posing as a pool boy and as you can imagine things don’t go exactly to plan.  All of this sounds pretty heavy and not the stuff that great comedy is made of, but Judge handles it all…

Excerpt: 9-REVIEW 9 out of 10 CG-animated fantasy adventure film 9 is a visually stunning eye candy masterpiece.  Produced by Tim Burton and directed by newcomer Shane Acker, 9 tells the tale of a rag-tag group of burlap covered little robots struggling to survive in post-apocalyptic Earth.  Starring the voice talents of Elijah Wood, Jennifer Connelly and John C. Reilly among others, 9 is a story with a simple message; tyranny and villainy can only be defeated when we unite as a group and cooperate with one another. Much like the Terminator films, human civilization has come to an end after a war with technology.  An artificial intelligence known as the Great Machine has turned against humanity unleashing robot creatures to help take over the Earth.  Before mankind is wiped out, the scientist responsible for creating the Great Machine, tinkers away to create his group of misfits, each named for the number on their back and imbues a portion of his soul to each one of them, so that humanity may live on.   Each of his creations display different qualities.  The main character, 9 (Elijah Wood) is a born leader, filled with compassion for his friends.  The leader of the group, 1 (Christopher Plummer), is a coward, keeping everyone safe by forcing them to hide.  The main female of the story, 7 (Jennifer Connelly) is a fearless, kick-ass warrior who would make Sigourney Weaver proud.  2 (Martin…

Excerpt: Imagine Earth without humans. That’s what the world in Wall-E is like since it’s been abandoned by humans. It’s just a big garbage dump now. The atmosphere is hazy with smog. The garbage is as high as the buildings. The only survivor: Wall-E: A robotic garbage compactor crushing all the garbage into little cubes while saving some of the human’s interesting things such as binoculars, Rubik’s Cube and light bulb stored away in his “home”. Wall-E has a friend though, the last living thing on Earth, a cockroach. Neither of them can talk.Wall-E is an abbreviation for “Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth class”. He falls in love with an alien robot sent from another planet to Earth for the purpose of find signs of vegetation and plant growth. Her name is Eve. Wall-E gives her a living plant which she stores away to take back to the humans that were floating in space for several hundred years aboard a big spaceship called Axiom. Wall-E follows her with admiration.
