In 2007, the band was ranked by Mediabase as the number one artist in airplay across all rock formats in the US and Canada, Billboard named them Number One Rock Artist of the Year. Three Days Grace has been selected for four Juno Awards. Nickelback, Three Days Grace and their American counterparts Buckcherry are coming to an American town near you. No Canadian dates have been announced. Of the troika, only Buckcherry will be promoting a new album. Their All Night Long LP will be out Aug. 3. Three Days Grace’s last disc was 2009′s Life Starts Now, whereas Nickelback released Dark Horse in 2008. The recent news which was announced that Black Eyed Peas hit I Gotta Feeling now formally holds the title of the most-downloaded digital song ever, after being officially purchased more six million times or about once every five seconds since its release. The Black Eyed Peas are planning the release of a new studio album, as per the announcement the group made following a concert in New York on July 30. Called The Beginning, the album is expected to release before the end of 2010. Following a performance in New York as part of the Good Morning America Summer Concert Series, will.i.am said the group had been “up late last night recording.” He later exposed the name of the album to an AP reporter, saying, “It symbolizes growth, new beginnings and starts, fresh new perspective.” Halifax’s biggest concert of the summer may not have turned much of a profit….

Excerpt: As musically speaking the great stunning Dave Matthews Band doesn’t have a whole lot in common with the Grateful Dead, outside of the tendency to jam the songs out to the delirium of the fans. Where the bands meet is in the work ethic and devotion to the fans to be out there throwing a wonderful and huge party summer after summer. The well known DMB has trekked through Pittsburgh just about every year for the past decade and a half, but diehard fans are going to have soak up the PNC Park experience on Saturday and hold onto it, because as the band announced in this spring that there will be no 2011 tour. As the Band has announced plans to take a break from touring in next year 2011, so it came as no surprise to find Blossom Music Center filled to capacity Friday night for a 2½-hour going-away party. Fronted by singer-guitarist Dave Matthews, a previous bartender from South Africa (by way of Virginia), this Grammy-winning group got the sold-out bash started with “Big Eyed Fish,” a midtempo tune with a touch of bluegrass. Matthews, 43, told the crowd it was good to be back at Blossom. It is official via the Dave Matthews Band website DMB, with opening act Jason Mraz, will be perform two shows at Wrigley Field on Friday, September 17 and Saturday, September 18, when the Cubs will be finishing up a road trip in Miami against the Marlins.
