Excerpt: Fashion as a concept differs extremely drastically from culture to culture as well as from person to person. The idea of fashion is not only modified through demographic origins and ethnic origins but also by financial and social standings. This is only practical. Most trends throughout time had a purpose other than only style. Mexicans wear sombreros to keep out of the bright sun and the Irish wear wool to stay dry and warm. Clothing and accessories choices are influenced by numerous environmental and human influenced factors. Fashion is not only a personal choice but an idea shared by most societies as a whole. Individual persons choose to wear what they want but are also limited to what could be acceptable to the society in which they dwell. Many cultures throughout the Earth do not condone scantily clad ladies and therefore ladies tend to dress in less revealing clothing. While this is the case for some cultures several others regard the female body as a beauty to behold leading to more revealing clothing that accentuates the feminine form. Other societies such as tribal Africans do not buy their clothes from stores and therefore wear only what is provided in their climate and purely use the natural resources around them to make their own clothing and usually have sensible trends that are conducive to a lifestyle that is closer to the earth.
